THE HOLIDAY THAT WASN’T, PART I
30 APRIL 2020, 18.00 Hours
In a parallel 2020, Jack and I should be buckled into our seats on SQ 0242, about to take off for Singapore, thence to Koh Samui to pick up our 7-day Star Clipper cruise. No use moaning so I am going to write a day-to-day blog to simulate our trip.
The closest I can get to a seatbelt is the one in our car. So here goes…. Dressed in my black cargo pants – no belt, no zipper, no metal but with copious pockets for passport and phone – USB of current work around my neck (in case of an emergency when everything must be left behind), a coloured top (in case I spill red wine), shoes off, compression stockings on; flight path on screen (OK, it’s my iPad), snacks and a brandy, lime and soda.
Ah… the take-off announcements are over; the seat-belt sign is off, now to look for a movie that I haven’t already seen X times, or perhaps a TV series, and wait for dinner to be served.
Great imagination.
Love it.
