ME AND MY WRITING LIFE with WRITERS' STUDIO

It's almost the end of the six-week 'Character & Critique' online course with Writers' Studio, in which I have been participating. Like the last days of a good holiday I feel regret and nostalgia for the camaraderie that has developed between the writers in my group and the worlds that have opened up to me in their stories - no two alike. I have been on quite a journey with my own characters and intend to use all the material I've written to enliven the novel ms I am (seriously) rewriting. One of our last exercises was a short piece in which we were required to set out our writing aims and what we were prepared to do to achieve them. In addition to putting in even more hours of work, being open to constructive criticism, workshopping manuscripts and editing into the sunset, I realised I need to move from a B- to an A+ in social-media presence.
I often wonder how people find so much time for blogging and online commentary. I guess it's a matter of discipline, of making time. So... the first day of the new social me!
